Politically InQueerect Dee surprised

At long last, we have reached the exciting conclusion to Politically InQueerect’s “If I Had a Dollar” story, Colorized Edition. If you want to go back to the beginning and read the whole thing in one go, start here.

What’s up next, you ask? First I have to finish my piece for the next issue of Rocksalt (whose Kickstarter got funded, by the way, and which you still have two days to contribute to if you want to score some goodies).

After that’s in the can, I’ll be starting on a brand-new PiQue strip that introduces a couple of new characters. In the meantime, look for more remastered PiQue on Tapastic. I believe their August theme is video games, so I’ll be focusing on strips that have some mention of video games. (There aren’t a whole lot thus far in the PiQueverse, but Todd does like his Nintendo, even if it’s not clear he has anything newer than a Game Cube.)

Cheers,

Dylan

Politically InQueerect Dee

A pregnant pause pervades the penultimate page of our PiQue parable, now up on Tapastic.

Speaking of PiQue, I noticed someone came here from googling “politically inqueerect archer and todd go to england.” When I redesigned this website last year I took that story down since there were no actual finished pages up, just color tests and storyboards. I do plan to start working on it again, though, and will start posting it again once I have final artwork to show.

I’ve also updated my con schedule for pretty much the rest of the year (there are one or two more potential happenings rattling around, but I’ll wait until they firm up). So yes, I will be at SPX and APE, tabling with Northwest Press, and I have a couple of shows where it’s just me and the feeps. It’s gonna be a busy autumn!

Cheers,

Dylan

Politically InQueerect

This week’s Politically InQueerect page is now up on Tapastic!

And today the madness that is Comic Con begins. If you’re in San Diego for the show, you can find me at the Prism Comics booth (#2144), chillin’ with the Northwest Press gang. I’ll have my TransTransformers prints for sale, and of course copies of Transposes. I’ll also have a bunch of original art with me, so come visit to look and buy!

I’m also going to be on the queer webcomics panel titled Bizarre? Queer? Perfect: Taming the Wild Webcomics Frontier, which is happening on Thursday, July 18 from 5:00 – 6:00 PM in room 28DE. If you’re using Comic Con’s panel scheduler, use this here link.

Come hear us natter on about the creative process and give tips on how to promote your own queer webcomic. I will, of course, be dishing out free Politically InQueerect bookmarks, so please come snag one, either at the panel or at the Prism booth. Hope to see you there!

Cheers,

Dylan

politically inqueerect Archer

New episode of Politically InQueerect is up on Tapastic, in which Archer cannot unsee what he has seen, cannot unsmell what he has smelled.

Only two more pages to go, and then the story shall be complete! At which point, I expect I’ll revert to single pagers and more laff-oriented stuff for a bit. I’m liking this colorization, though. I really think it’s working out well for this story. I don’t think I’ll wind up colorizing absolutely every single PiQue strip, but there are many more yet that could stand to benefit from a broadening of the hues.

Lambda Literary

Since you presumably like queer comics (you do, right?), you might well be interested in this article over at Lambda Literary, in which a whole bunch of queer cartoonists (myself included!) talk about some of their favorite comics. It’s always fun to watch creators geek out, so get over there and read it, will ya.

Finally, it might interest you to learn that, at long last, I’ve figured out how I want to use Twitter, several months after creating an account and several years after basically everyone else on the planet. By which I mean, I’m actually posting there now. Follow me if you dare: @DylanNDREdwards

Politically InQueerect Dee

The latest episode of remastered Politically InQueerect is now up on Tapastic! Dee comes to the end of her quest, only to discover that the princess is in another castle.

What else is going on? Not much to report. I have been working on all sorts of stuff but not a whole lot I can actually show you at the moment. And Comic-Con is fast approaching; I leave for San Diego two weeks from yesterday. I have one panel lined up so far, not sure if there will be others.

And I will, of course, be hangin’ out at the Northwest Press booth, which will once again be rolled up with Prism Comics (booth #2144). So. If yer gonna be at SDCC, do stop by and say hello.

Cheers,

Dylan

Politically InQueerect - Rand

Observe this week’s remastered-in-color episode, in which Rand reveals a secret and Dee runs out of beer. We are closing in on the climax of this exciting tale, I tell you what!

One of the comment threads over at Tapastic posited the existence of an alternate universe Archer, who ran off to be a semi-homeless punk kid. I had to find out what this Archer would look like, so I did a li’l sketch.

I think maybe he needs more tattoos and piercings. But his cuts and bruises suggest he is not any easier to get along with than his counterpart. I am sorely tempted to do a one-shot comic of them meeting, but I fear it would wander too much into shark-jumping territory. Perhaps it’s best to savor the thought without ever really following it through.

Politically InQueerect

The latest remastered-in-color Politically InQueerect is up on Tapastic! The party is back together, Dee meets Rand, and Archer continues to be Archer.

I have a nagging feeling there was something else I was supposed to mention in my update today, but WHAT. The coming invasion of the Chickenbears and the world’s subsequent plunge into darkness? No, you already knew about that and have long since prepared, clever reader that you are. Welp, I guess if it comes back to me I’ll just update this here post.

Until whenever,

Politically InQueerect Dee

The latest episode of remastered Politically InQueerect is up on Tapastic! Follow along as Dee continues her quest for answers, but has difficulty focusing on the task at hand for some bizarre reason.

There’s also news on the QU33R front, and another opportunity for a sneak peek at my TransTransformers story. The deadline has arrived, and art is pouring in from the 33 amazing artists that are being featured in this anthology, edited by Rob Kirby. You can check out several pages of previews on the QU33R tumblr page, or you can follow along on the QU33R Facebook page. Brand new stuff from Eric Orner, Diane DiMassa, Ed Luce, MariNaomi, and Howard Cruse, just to name a few. Seriously, this book is gonna kick some ass.

You can check out the finished art for one of the pages from my TransTransformers story right here.

Excitement!

Politically InQueerect

Let’s find out what Todd and Dee are up to, shall we? Dee asks the question you’ve all been harboring, then gets distracted by a cute girl before she can press for an answer. It’s all in this week’s PIQue.

Lammy update: Transposes did not win (sad trombone), but No Straight Lines scooped up the Lammy for best anthology. So yay for that, huge props to Justin for putting together such an amazing anthology, and big grats to all the contributors (myself included, hem hem). Oh, and for those of you who have not yet snagged your own copy of No Straight Lines and have been frustrated in trying to find a copy on account of the print run selling out, you will be pleased to learn that a second printing is in the works. This will be a softcover, so it’ll be cheaper to boot. Looks like Fantagraphics is taking pre-orders, so go throw some dollars at ’em.

Cheers,

Dylan

Politically InQueerect

First off, it being Wednesday, I have for you the latest episode of the remastered-in-color Politically InQueerect. Click on through to see it as you’ve never seen it before! Bonus points if you can spot Rand’s movie quote paraphrase.

Next up, as I mentioned last week, I did a podcast interview with Comic Book Queers, wherein we discuss Transposes, the Chicago bathhouse scene (for some reason), and other highly inappropriate things. It was a great deal of fun, and you should ought give it a listen.

Finally, this very Monday is the Lambda Literary Awards. As you may recall, Transposes is a finalist in the Transgender Non-Fiction category, and No Straight Lines (in which I have three cartoons) is nominated for Best Anthology (full list of finalists is here). I’m heading off to New York to partake in the festivities. Should be exciting, and if nothing else I have an excuse to spend a few days in NYC. We shall see what transpires!

Cheers,

Dylan
