books by Dylan EdwardsIt is time once again for the Small Press Expo to commence! This weekend, September 17-18, 2016, you will find me at the MARRIOTT NORTH BETHESDA HOTEL & CONFERENCE CENTER. [Dunt dunt dunn]

I’ll be ensconced at the Northwest Press table D2.

Also, as you may recall, the Beyond Anthology is nominated for an Ignatz Award, so like vote for it and stuff.

AND, there will be a bunch of us Beyondees scattered about the show, should you wish to seek out autographs. Use this handy treasure map to seek out your fortune:

I personally am sold out of Beyonds, but will be bringing a display copy if you want to flip through. I know Reed Black will have a handful of copies to sell, so hit his table up early if you wanna snag one.

Hope to see you this weekend!

Cheers,

Dylan

Small Press Expo 2015

Just a couple of weeks out from the Small Press Expo! I’ll be sharing a table with Rob Kirby – you can find us at H12 – and we’ll have a bounty of queer comics for ya.

I’ll also be moderating a panel called Queer and Here to Make Comics on Saturday the 19th at 6:00 PM in the White Oak Room. Here’s the description:

The indie comix scene is one of the best places to find stories by queer creators and comix for queer readers so let’s celebrate queer representation in comix with Anna Archie Bongiovanni (Autostraddle Saturday Morning Comics), Yao Xiao (Autostraddle Baopu Comics), Hazel Newlevant (If This Be Sin), and Kevin Jay Stanton (Burl and Fur) and discuss what it means to them. Moderated by Dylan Edwards.

So yeah! If you’re going to be at SPX this year, add that to your list of stuff to do!

Meanwhile, as I await edits on Other Comics Project, I’m working away on chapter 4 of Valley of the Silk Sky. Thirteen pages penciled, six pages inked, one page finished with a second 80% of the way done. Not making any specific announcements yet as to when chapter 4 will start running, since I don’t know how long Other Comics Project is going to take, but rest assured things are in process.

In the meantime, I’ll once again be running a series of world-building posts in between chapters, so head over to the Valley of the Silk Sky website if you wanna check those out.

And with that, I’m off to wrap up that 20% of page the second.

Cheers,

Dylan

Qu33r comics anthology

Just a quick note to mention that QU33R won the 2014 Ignatz Award for Outstanding Anthology or Collection! Big congratulations to our editor Rob Kirby, the 33 creators featured in the book (including myself, of course :} ), and Zan Christensen & Northwest Press!

It’s very exciting to be part of another award-winning anthology (No Straight Lines won the 2013 Lambda Literary Award for Best Anthology). And if you haven’t checked out QU33R yet, well, what’re ya waitin’ for, an invitation? (You are cordially invited to check out QU33R.)

Cheers,

Dylan

Politically InQueerect Old Ghosts Basement

Politically InQueerect: Old Ghosts page 28 is up! I feel guilty about this page, but not guilty enough to have done it differently.

Read it here on Tapastic, or here on Studio NDR.

The archive of all pages posted to date is here.

In other news, QU33R is up for an Ignatz Award!

I have a 5-page story in there, the one about the gender-swapped Transformers.

I believe the final voting for the award is done at SPX, so if you’re going to be there this year and want to support queer comics, do consider giving us a vote.

Cheers,

Dylan
